I looked up the price of the ATO and discovered it cost more then the deskmate. So I have asked to get the gift card. I don't mind getting the deskmate instead but I want to make sure someone gets to use the gift card.

I suppose that aquariums, ATO containers, dosing containers... they are all just boxes that hold liquid, but when you think about their purpose, it still boggles my mind that they charge so much for an ATO container when a bucket/jug serves exactly the same function.

I got a torch with a missing head and brown jelly oozing out if it. The fact that they never pay for shipping replacements must be the root to some generally poor business practices.
A) if they don't send you the dying coral, they have to reimburse you--that's no good for them
B) if you don't throw a fit, they get away scott free
C) if you do throw a fit, they provide you with a store credit, basically obligating you to buy more coral from them so that you don't waste the cost of another shipment.

So I figured it out. They've got the June and July prizes mixed up. June had the ATO and a premium aquatics gift card, July had the deskmate and the GC went to second place. So do I:

1. Say nothing and just accept my deskmate without the gift card
2. Ask for the gift card and give it to one of you? @OrchidMiss ha a new tank that probably needs some dry goods for example

Should have both the gift card and ATO and an additional gift card for the rando.

I am finding they don't last long in my collection cup. Im not sure what the issue is. I have lost 3 batches that I had pulled. I wanted to send as many as I could but this may not be the best idea. I will pull a final batch this weekend and get them out.

Update on the new corals.

The acan is looking a little better. I gave the Duncan and a few other frags to another hobbyist. The plate is a bit bland so far but Im liking the astreo.

The new acropora are very colorful if tiny. Finally my deresa moved itself somewhere interesting.

I had a hydnophora that looked like that when it was fully open.
I was scratching my head for a second.

I bought a tank. It's gonna have fish and water and stuff.
In all some seriousness, this tank is to replace my original tank, which was used, jerry-rigged together, and terrible. I hope to do better with this one.

The tank:
It's a ProStar 150 Peninsula. 48x24x24 110-gallon with a 30-gallon sump (as we all know, 110+30=150). It came with no instruction manual save a single image so hopefully it is that easy to put together otherwise I'm screwed as those who know me know what a useless plumber I am. For lights, I am starting with an AI Blade Grow and Glow. The plan is to get two more Blades, probably a Freshwater (to get red and more white lights) and another Grow. For flow, I am using Jebao because it is cheap.

I did not see a catfish in your list.

With flow pumps, I learnt my lesson being cheap and not getting a tune or mp’s with corals as inhabitants. I don’t go for cheap these days but for value even if it’s used. Value for money, and value protection on your inhabitants that get influenced by your machines.
