Just added a Maxima. Found this worm/other near the mantle. Anyone have any idea what this is? It is definitely alive.

Beautiful clam!

That looks like an accretion of sand-grains, so I would expect the worm to be some sort of filter feeder ... but that's a pretty wild guess, and could be way off-base. Best to get a good look at what comes out of the end of that tube when the worm's feeling comfortable / hungry.

Corals are amazing and forgiving. Here are three pictures that tell both a sad and happy tale.

Chalice from February 2017.

Here is the same Chalice showing signs of life after I managed to kill it along with a number of other corals by starving my tank.

Close up of a recovering edge.

Another shot showing a recovering spot in the back along with the skeleton remains of the coral on the right.

At one point, I almost removed this rock to sun bleach it. Obviously I'm glad I didn't.
BTW - I am told this chalice is Hollywood Stunner but I'm not sure. It doesn't have green eyes. Thoughts?

This is a Bali Maricultured torquoise stylophora I picked up from UC back in 2016.

I thought I would post some pictures and a short video, all from today. I am slowly removing 'weeds' from my system. Over the weekend, I removed an overgrown green Birdsnest as well as a boat load of Clavularia and Xenia. Doing this opened up the channels in the rock work on that side of the tank. I had let the 'weeds' get so out of hand, I forgot how I had aqua-scaped that area.

Ted,
As always, your reef is so beautiful to gaze into to.
Love the video with the natural daylight. You can see the shadows of your fish in that one.
