hi everyone im thinking of doing a new sump myself and a buddy did a 30g long but to me its not doing so well and getting lots of microbubbles.. thinking of putting my 55g with a new layout for my 120g.. if you guys have any great designs that work for you please post
 
I just built the Triton Sump.

This is one that I have replicated a few times... I would even go as far to say it's "microbubbles" full proof!

no it has a gate (over-flow) into a skimmer/refug area... the bigger area in the layout above has the sock emptying into the area where the skimmer sits.
