The trouble with ai and the blades is that they didnt understand their product and ip66 rating untill the rma's started happening. This meant people started and still are mounting them too close to the waters surface! Which in fairness to people is AI's fault. The prolonged exposure salt creep, humidity and moisture kills them slowly but surely. IP66 cant protect against that.

IP66 is the wrong standard and indicates that AI either didn’t understand it or hedged away from NEMA 4x for cost. IP67, in theory would also prevent salt creep.

The issue with IP66 is not so much the humidity, but rather the capillary action of salt creep.

Yeah, I got three AI blades and all three broke down. Luckily two were still under warranty and got replaced but the third was just outside of the short 1-year warranty. The first two that broke down then replaced have been operating for close to two years. I am not sure how long they will last.

My currently plan is to replace the two working AI blades with two ATI Straton X when those release in 2026.

Yeah I had 14 to start with and am down to 11 in just over 2 years. The liklihood is they will start dropping out one by one now I think. Salt water really is a killer even marine grade stuff cant escape its effects long term. Once mine go i am probably going kessil a500x or something I can hang high up.
