Glad you are safe!! That could have gone badly!Was an eventful night. Woke up at 1am by the smoke detector. New ATO siphon break definitely didn't work. Tank was down to 31 salinity and water was every where. Have to figure out what went wrong after work.
Was very fortunate. Only equipment hurt was the ATO plug and the power strip. Perfect storm. Power strip fell off its mount and the water came right from above. Thanks for the kind words!
Have you thought about removing one side of the gyre and capping it? I feel like I recall reading that you could do that, and at 25g I'm sure it'd still be enough flow -and- smaller footprint in a tank where space is at a premium.So I got a little trigger happy on some live sales way too soon, but I'm going to make the best of it. What's everyone's thoughts on flow for this tank and it being SPS dominant, but mixed.
Currently have the 2k gyre on the back wall with the flow going the direction of my lovely artwork below. I'm thinking of adding a mp10, nero 3, octo pulse 2 on the back wall where the yellow circle is to maybe clean up anything that gets stuck behind the rock work.
What's your thoughts? Or perhaps make my gyre vertical in the corner, but then where would you put another pump?
I never heard about the capping of these. I may have to look into that either way. I had already received my mp10, so last night I put the gyre in a corner, vertically and the mp10 a little higher and out front on a panel that is only 1/2 visible. But this morning I didn't like it and put it back, except the mp10 is where I talked about in my picture, blowing out from behind the rock work.
It's a bit too late for that. Not to mention, I don't believe I've ever waited six months for SPS. Appreciate the input though!!
