It is sad yet the way he is looking at the tank, it looks like he is in another world.. As a nurse I have worked in many nursing homes, when I first started, and seen many elders just dropped and never visited. It is sad how our parents take care of us but yet when it's time for us to take care of them it's a burden...

Why look forward to it? Just do it! I sit and stare at mine all the time. Yes it's the reason we all started and its the the reason for all the hard work and money spent. If you don't sit and just watch your tank as much as possible ur in this for the wrong reasons lol

I'll come home from football and see my grandmother watching my tanks for hours. She pays attention to every little detail. She mainly watches my tank for "fancy pants" my Manderine. She loves that guy.

An artists point of view:

Critique:
the picture itself as shapes is designed very well. The lines bring my eyes all around the picture, giving attention to every detail of the room. The subject matter is also very nicely organized.
The aquarium is at such an angle you can almost see the whole thing, but that's not what makes the picture.
The man is without emotion, having a very stern face. He does not seem happy, mad, sad, or even confused. This allows us to create our own emotion from this picture, and being bald really makes that happen. Hair is a serious personality indicator, which is why we artists use a lot of bald models. Keeps it vague so to speak.

Personal feeling from the picture:
All critiquing aside, this picture is very peaceful. The aquarium is not a predator tank, the old man is not seemingly violent, and the surrounding decor gives me the sensation of visiting my homeland, Idaho. It looks like the west by the way the road looks. Has that sandy dust feel. Could be the lighting. But all in all i think this would be worthy in a frame, painted or printed.
