I am using 32 gallon outdoor trashcans for my mixing. I rinsed them with rodi because who know what could have gotten in them at the store... other than possible contaminants they are safe in my experience.

This Rubbermaid is made with LLDPE which is commonly used in food grade application. I would be willing to bet you'll have no problem using this for saltwater application.

Same containers I plan on using. Avail at home depot. I researched for 2 days and couldn't find anything that says there not safe. I'm going for it also.

Thanks for the responses. Would be great if it would be ok as there isnt much too choose from to fit it where it needs to go.

I'm going to try putting a small bulkhead in it for a drain! We shall see how that works lol.

Polyethylene and polypropylene are good choices, as long as the manufacturer didn't add some other ingredient that was an issue.

I agree that cleaned cans made from these should usually be fine. :)

Thanks for the reply. So a vinegar bath should be sufficient before use?

I would first do a soap wash to get rid of the mold release agent....followed by a vinegar wash.
