Used black rustoleum spray can for mine. I preffer black as it hides cords and equipment better. I clean the back glass during water changes to prevent Coraline from taking over.

Also tired of the salt creep so finally thinking of painting the back of the glass black. Would I be able to paint it with coral and fish still in it??
about 30 years ago i had a 30 long in the bathroom of my auto shop...one night i repainted a tool box about 10 feet away from the tank and all the fish were dead the next morning....was it the cause or just a coincidence...no idea....did plenty of body and paint work in there after that but made sure the bathroom door was closed and no issues....but as a result i'd be afraid to paint a tank with anything in it...if i did i'd use a roller, probably water based paint and plenty of ventilation

What about buying automtive window tint? This way youll avoid any possible contamination from soray paint.
