Hello everyone. Posting this just to get some opinions. This is my first time in along time to aquascape. I have a 100 gallon tank and used about 90lbs of rock. I tried to make a couple caves. Pictures aren’t great but whatever. What do you think? I’m planning on a mixed reef so I tried to leave room for sps and for my fish to swim around.

Off to a good start! I personally would remove the small rock in the middle and connect the two islands with an arch possibly. Currently, to me, the two islands look too man made/artificial. In the long run it will probably all be covered with coral anyways lol.

Thanks for the input. I do have some rock left over. I may be able to bust them up and re-glue them to make an arch. I plan on using mortar to fill in the gaps to make everything look like one piece and you’re right eventually I’m hoping to have it covered in coral I don’t know. I’m not good at this stuff.

I really like it. How tall is the tank?

I like how you followed rule of thirds.

My eyes want to see more height in 1 island, but that's without knowing how tall the structure is compared to tank height

Agree with feather that one side should be taller….i wouldn’t connect the two structures….its super helpful
To be able to remove the rock in pieces if needed down the road
Aka catching a wrasse or something fast

Water level in the tank will be about 18 1/2 inches. The structure on the left is roughly 14 inches at the tallest point the structure on the right is about 12 inches at the tallest point.

Rule of thirds?
Yes. Visually we are drawn to certain vistas. The way the left island occupies 1/3 of the tank while the other is approximately 2/3rds. Our eyes naturally enjoy this pattern. You followed it subconsciously. It's very appealing
