If i had the space, my dream large tank is an 8’x4’x3’ tank with a large group (I’m talking 15-20+) of wrasses. However my dream small tank I actually acquired eon late August. It’s a 3’x16”x1’ tank which has a Pseudocheilinops ataenia trio.

Started with a 60g, then 125 and added a 45g. Upgraded the 125 to a 240. Perfect for rockscape and fish and corals. Not so perfect for a 5' tall person! Can't reach the bottom in back, barely in front and it is as tall as me so I can't see the top (eyes lower than top of my head lol's).

Perfect would be same size or larger but a few inches less in width and depth. Or a fish room for the equipment then tank could be mu ch lower!! But that won't happen so this is my dream tank!!! If I had to do it again, I might put it in the livingroom instead of a 10x10 room/office but I wanted it to be where I could enjoy it and this is where I spend m y time

I wish I could pick 2.....because the perfect tank for me is both a nano and a midsized.

I absolutely love my nanos and wouldn't want to not have them, but I also really want a tank around the 100g range

Started with a 55, then bought a 135 (didn't put up) and a 240 (didn't put up) and then got a 470 with a nearly 200 gallon sump... put that one up.

It was fun while it lasted, but I think the issues that came up or could come up ended making it more of a chore than enjoyment for me.

Looking to do something in the 40-80 range here pretty soon. Will do for a species of fish I was unable to successfully keep on my last tank. Making it species specific and probably SPS dominant.

Currently I am on my 4th tank, a 56g column. All my tanks have been mid range, from 36 gallons up to 90. I have no desire to go bigger as this tank I have now is very stable but also very manageable maintenance and cost wise. For me, it's perfect

I've been in my house for almost 30 years. I started with a 125g for 6 years, then a 360 for a year, then a 400 for 20 years, then a 560 for 18 months and finally a 750g (120x48x30t) four months ago. With the wife's permission we have definitely installed the largest tank our current home will comfortably hold. To go bigger we need to win a lottery ticket and get a bigger house..... And I don't buy too many lotto tickets.

No need to win the lotto. Just sell tickets to your public aquarium

The ranges in the survey are way too big as there is a massive difference between a 30g and a 179g. However, as someone who just upgraded from a Fluval Evo 13.5 to a 120g, I will say that an extra two feet in length would be nice. The standard 4x2x2 is a little too boxy of an aspect ratio for me and I would like a more panoramic view of the tank. I think a 6x2x2 180g would be ideal for me.

If I had the space for one I would get a Large or monster size tank, but I don't think my little town house is ready for a tank that size. So nano is just the perfect size for me!!
i'm in the same boat as you. i have a condo that i've been in for 30 years. I like the condo but not the space for my tank locations. had a 120 against the wall opposite my kitchen which took up half the living room. Sold that tank and went nano for a while but keep increasing again in size. was a 28, then 39, then 60 and now a 75. May as well just go back to half a living room again LOLOL. I would like to go to 500+ as well but that would require either swim gear when in the living room or a different home and my place is paid for so not happening :confounded-face:. Bummer LOL

My very first marine tank was a 15 gallon with an undergravel filter in 1968. Now that I'm retired, my current tank is a 16 gallon AIO. In between, I worked with tanks up to 90,000 gallons and systems up to 500,000 gallons. I guess I've come full circle (grin). I enjoy the smaller tanks the most though!

For me it is 28"d x 30"w x 72"l is what I consider the perfect size for me. That puts it around the 250 gallon range. I think at that size I can do almost anything I would ever want. I have a thing for really long tanks. I have always wanted a shallow reef that is 16inx16inx12ft

Had a 29g for a year, got a 75 had it for 3yrs, then got a custom 90 had it for almost 2 years, Now I'm getting ready to move, but couldn't go without a tank so when I stumbled across this tiny 14g nanocube on sale at petco the rest is history and I love it the same as the others. Plus I can drain half the water and carry the tank to its new home.

I love my 210g, but I also love my 6g tanks. I am taking down my 40g LSP and making it a new Nem and clown tank soon. So, I could not answer very well. I love all sizes of tanks.
If I had to decide on only one, it would be my 210g. If I had to limit it to 2 it would be the 6g and 210g.
