This is an update to yesterdays post... I have a conceptual design of what i am looking for or need created...
My tank sits in a cove in my living room between two walls, which looks great… until it’s time to clean the side panels. (See attached image)
There’s very little room between the sides of the tank and the walls (6" to 8"), so cleaning the glass—especially with a magnetic scraper—is a pain. Right now, I basically have to reach into the tank and clean the inside of the side panels by hand, which can be tricky because of the water reflections, viewing angle, and overall perspective shift. It’s surprisingly hard to see exactly what you’re cleaning from above. Has anyone with a similar setup found or created some kind of skinny extension pole/handle with a strong magnet on the end that would allow you to control the outside magnet while still using the normal scraper on the inside of the tank?
Seems like something somebody in the reefing community has probably already 3D printed or MacGyvered together.
If anyone has built something like this, found a product that works, or has pictures/files for a 3D-printed solution, I’d love to see it!
