Time to burn my tank down

Be glad you weren't in the desert and that was a camel spider. I don't care if they are just chasing your shadow to get out of the sun or not. You will be screaming too the first time one of them sneaks up on you or it goes past your sleeping bag.
I've seen those in Saudi. They are really cool.

Every time I read these things I thank the heavens that I live in a country with literally not a single dangerous animal ;Woot I hate spiders so much, and have screamed like a little girl on several occasions:oops:

What country do you hail from

Why do they end up in the sump?! I about peed my pants working on stuff whe I noticed a giant black spider chilling under the protein skimmer cup! Why?!?

My son got a new car because he found a large spider in the old one.
There are no human eating spiders in North America.
My small cat catches and eats the big ones.

They hang out in places pray will be found. A dark humid spot is a great place for pray to hide

That's a small spider. We have way bigger wolf spiders. Now if you want a real creep factor try these house centipedes we have. They get pretty big and are so fast.

I hate house centipedes too but, like spiders, they can actually help you. They eat things like termites and roaches, ants and other stuff you really don't want in your house. Though knowing that, they still creep me out and I will kill them when I see them and can catch them.

Common house centipedes are associated with higher levels of humidity. If it's a basement run a dehumidifier and that usually helps with them. If you are on a crawl make sure you crawl stays dry. You may need to close vents and run dehumidifiers in the crawl as well.

I only see them during the winter when it's a lot dryer. They seem to not like higher humidity. During the spring to fall it's hot with really high humidity. We'll get the roach water bug deals until it gets cold.
