Tips to cool a house! Please help

Well. The air has been off for a few hours. I kicked it back on and went outside (it's cooler outside than in the house :(). I hit the top of the fan And it tried to spin. I hit it multiple times and rather hard. It made maybe two rotations and stopped. So something is kaput. I'm sure you guys know what it is. Have yet to get in touch with landlord (not for a lack of effort)

Starting out the day at 79.5 not too bad but with a high of 97 today hopefully I can get this fixed today.

I would love to have central air, but I have to deal with window units for now. I do know with central air the motor and cap are very easy to change if you can source parts on the internet, but if you are renting you may not want to mess with it.

If I was you I would go buy one of those free standing AC units that pumps the hot air out a tube and through a window. I have one as a spare in case I run into issues and it has saved my tank more than once. They are not cheap, but with the tank and a 5 month old it may be worth it in the long run. Some landlords seem to take their sweet time when it isn't their comfort that is the issue...

I know that's true. Luckily my landlord called me back about 30 minutes ago. His AC went out two weeks ago so he knows what it's like. He said someone will be here today after lunch to get it fixed. I am actually surprised at how quickly he was able to get someone here.

Yes it is. The house is a chili 78 degrees :) hopefully it will cool down over night

Yeah thanks for your help in tracking down the problem :). There may have to be a coral sell to cover the cost for this and the lights that went out on my anemone tank...
