Tissue Loss on Duncan

So about 2 months ago I noticed my Duncan had tissue receding up from the base on one side. It was covered in a sorta thick brown algae. It came off easily when I cleaned it up, then did a few days of dipping for 10minutes in Coral RX. After that it seemed to be getting better but I can see now that it is not. Some algae still grows on it but I clean it off regularly. Seems to have started when my clown goby started hanging out in it and it didn't open up for a week or so. Tomorrow I'm going to try dipping in iodine. I'm wondering if this will help save it or if I should frag some of the clusters off before the tissue loss makes it to them and the heads. The pics aren't the best but you can see on the left side at the base where it is receding.
