Scrape them off and net them up off the sand. I don't think they are aware enough to go into a trap. Any that went in it would just be luck

They aren't the worst hitchhikers. They like coraline and zoa tho. They multiply very quickly. You'll end up with a bunch of white spots on ur rock. Its hard to tell type, some are ok some aren't

I use a harlequin shrimp to keep them manageable. I have to feed the shrimp a chocolate chip star fish once a month or so.

I do this too except I keep a couple chocolate chips in my sump and just feed him a leg once in a while. If I wait until the shrimp is out he'll take the leg right from my hand

I just use a really large fish net, and ‘scrape’ the glass once or twice a week if they’re bad. I catch a ton if I hit the tank before daylight hits the room [emoji1360]

that's kind of morbid... what do chocolate chips eat anyways?
They will eat the leftovers that end up in the sump and I also feed them a raw frozen shrimp once in a while. Apparently they like to eat sand sifting starfish too, I used to have one of those also

It seems to take quite a long time, I first got one a couple of months ago when my harlequin was just about out of asterinas to eat. The three legs I cut off are about half grown back now so I bought a second one a few weeks ago

I'm thinking of getting a harlequin as well. Do u have to feed the chocolate chip? How often do u feed a leg?

I just give the chocolate chips some frozen shrimp once in a while. I couldn't find any clear advice on how often to feed a leg, I've only been cutting off about a half inch and feeding him about one a week. There's also a few asterinas left in the tank that he snacks on too and he seems to be doing well.

You will have to feed the chocolate chip. He'll eat frozen shrimp. I guess it depends on size of shrimp and starfish how often you feed.
