To return pumps into one pipe?

Has anyone done 2 return pumps into a One? I've currently been running one red dragon 230 with a 1.5" output from a basement sump. Looking to replace as the controller seems to die every 2 years. I was thinking I could buy a lot of L2's for that price they have 1 1/4 output I'd like to run two into a 1 1/2 return. Not sure about the fluid dynamics does this sound feasible probably about 14ft of head

You will need a Shark and Reef, 1” x 1” x 1” Hose Barb “Y” Fitting, or another true “Y” fitting, to keep from Dead Heading the pumps. If one pump is larger than the other, you may be able to use a “y” that is straight through for the larger pump, and smaller pump comes in from the side. Check valves before the “Y’s” if only one pump is ever going to run, by itself.

They sell kits fairly affordable for sump pumps using dual pumps that include the Y with check valves on each side. Generally dont trust check valves but in this scenario the risk is minimal as any leak is just going back to your other pump. Can obviously plumb a similar setup yourself I just mention in case it worthwhile to you to buy it all together... then you just basically tie each pump into the kit. If you go that route just make sure its all materials safe for saltwater.

This is a picture of how it’s done with Sump Pumps, the Yellow Pump is the Smaller Pump, “Battery Back-up.” It comes in the Side of the “y.” The Bigger White Pump 120 Volt goes Straight Through. Both Pumps, same Size it should be a True ”Y.” Note the difference between a small letter “y” and a Caps letter “Y,” in my post.
