I’m trying to figure out if my toadstool is starting to shed, or if there is something wrong with it? It will have the “dry skin” patch for most of the day but then will eventually push out all its tentacles. But then the next morning, this starts over. Anyone have any insight on what this might be? I’ve tried googling, and some Facebook groups, but have not found a good answer yet. Anything helps! Thanks!!!

It’s possible that his shed is stuck, try rubbing it with your finger to try and see if anything will come off!!

I’ll defiantly try that! A thought just occurred to me looking at it just now. Could those also be stings from my mushroom coral when it flops down at night?

my toadstool does something similar and has those types of patches, they seem to move around and go away when the light comes up.
Yes, mine “go away” as well. But it takes about 2-3 hours after the rest has fully opened. Also, if you look closely, you can still see a discoloration on the body, but not the tentacles.

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
