Tom Aqua Lifter Pump....WHERE ARE YOU??

I know this is probably old news to those of you who use them.....but my Aqua Lifter died a few days ago after nearly 7 years of continuous operation. I broke down and bought one on eBay for over $55! That is what can be called Official Highway ROBBERY!! I know, I know...the law of supply and demand.....I totally get it.

What gets me is that nobody has jumped on this golden opportunity to fill a much needed void in the aquarist marketplace. I realize that most people have progressed to drilling their tanks and using other methods to move water from their DT to the sump.....but I was honestly shocked that there is literally no other manufacturers out there....ANYWHERE making an Aqua Lifter-like product. I know that I am not the only person left that still uses a CPR overflow. They still sell them on Amazon, online retailers as well as my LFS.

Has anybody else looked into this? It really is a strange situation.

It's like they fell off the planet. IIRC they are discontinued. Ended up buying two from the LFS in 2020, one is in service for a ato and the other is a backup that will be quietly be hoarded.

I had an aqualifter for my ATO that died after 5 years. I just bought a diaphragm pump from avastmarine and it works perfectly although it is much louder than the Toms aqualifter.

I, too, am hoarding about 3 of them, plus several replacement diaphragms. I agree— ‘fell off the face of the earth’ sums the situation up well.

These look exactly like a Tom Aqua Lifter. I wonder if they are using the same manufacturer but just slapping their name/logo on the box and pump? So, since these are UK voltage, I assume that means they are made for 240 volts, correct? I guess if one were so inclined, you could buy a voltage/travel adapter and make it work in the US, right? I have never bought anything that was made for 240 volts before so I don't know how that all works, or if it does.

I thought mine was going bad so I went into search mode and managed to find 2.
While I was doing my search, the only other thing I could come up with was the avastmarine one.

I’m hoarding my last Aqualifter also, thing is with Kamoers dropping in price, I see that void filled by cheap programmable WI-FI dosing pumps

Why solve a problem for $20 when you can solve the same problem for $120?

I just looked at the avast pump, it's looks like the same thing in a project box with a cord for 50 bucks! Good on them that folks will buy it!
