Tom surface skimmer

Hey guys, my girlfriends aquarium is getting that organic funk across the surface of the water and a friend of mind said he used a toms aquatics surface skimmer on his 29 reef. I can't get the thing to work... the box says it's got adjustable flow. but all the little basket does is float...


Does anyone have any tricks or tips to getting this thing to work?

The shaft sticking out the top turn it counter clockwise till the basket begins to sink
a little and water just starts to flow over the comb hth.

Ahhh!! worked instantly! great advice hahaha man i work at a lfs and i was getting a little embarassed.
