I emailed the shop I ordered from and received what seemed like an automated response stating some breakage is normal. I didn't pursue any further and started gluing .

Only pic I could find. Pieces weren't individually wrapped, had to sort through the box full of pieces to put this one together.

That is just plain wrong. If you can not post the business name, please send me a pm. At some point I want to buy some, so I will not purchase from the company you had such bad experience with.

That sucks! Would love to hear who it is in an effort to save someone else from having the same problem. Hopefully it saves someone else from getting a box of broken pieces when they expect bigger branches.

Thanks.

I acquired one big piece of tonga around 75lbs, here is a pic.

Then I pieces some more longer tonga to branch out. I was lucky to get some tonga rocks local. Haven't seen those come in a while. You still can get them online but very expensive...almost $5lbs.

My fish get big so I had to upgrade to 120gal and due to corals growth I had to add more rocks so I kinda lose my tonga beauty look but they are all still there :)

Here is my 120:

I have couple more tanks in my basement that are connected to this so not housing much nice corals in this tank. More nicer corals in my man cave tanks lol
Nice looking piece

I have very large tonga shelf piece and a single branch piece...both from BRS. Tonga is very dense and not very porous. I love it for scaping and a centerpiece but it's not a great source of surface area for filtration. YMMV

How did you prepare the Tonga branch before placing it in your tank? Rodi in a trash can for months or what?

I wish! Since it was the only piece of rock that wasn't either live rock or clean dry rock I just used it after a light cleaning. Fought GHA for a couple of months on that piece of rock alone. Everything else was ok.

That's what I'm trying to avoid. I put the branch into a brute with heater, pump, and bacteria starter. Someone at BRS said to do this with Marco shelf for 5 days, that need up in a nightmare GHA problem. I didn't like the look for a smaller cube, Reefer 170. now I'm onto Tonga Branch. My question is leave it running in the brute or take it out will cause less of a problem with the GHA. I'm lost on this one.

Cliff717, the yellow stick, is that a fiberglass rod ?

I've seen where people is that rod for winter driveway stakes, but if it's metal covered with fiberglass then with some type of rubber, plastic or other, it may become an issue if it starts coming appart from the saltwater ?

I use Polyp Lab premium glue, you have to hold it there for awhile, seemed to work ok.
