Top fin cf100 Not adjusting flow

Hey hoping you all can help me I just started out about month in things are going great. Today I cleaned my canister filter for the first time (top fin cf100, I know not a great filter). After cleaning it I got the water flowing again and noticed that the flow rate was on low, when I went to adjust it I was not able to. Not sure if the flow rate is actually on low or if the indicator is just broke. Any thoughts or feedback?

So oddly enough after a few days of leaving it on the low setting it can now be adjusted to max flow again. Very odd and I had to do something wrong.

imo just get another filter, top fin (petsmart brand)'s filters suck in general, I mean I've used them on freshwater tanks didnt like them, got other filters to replace, sure they get the job done maybe?? but for reef tanks thats unheard of for me until now, there is also some debate on whether or not canisters are good for reef tank... I'm not sure which side I'm on
