I see, maybe the white dots was something Else then and probably stress related on my tangs, it was 9 months ago since i seen any dots and nothing since (i inspect my tank inhabitants every day for minimum of 20 min) or they have built up their immunity to it.
It is possible you got lucky and the ich died off or it was never ich in the first place. Sometimes it is at such a low level you don’t even see it. I only wanted to highlight that clean shrimp had nothing to do with whatever happened.

My tang gets this dot once in a while. It is a mucus plug and not any parasite. I would bet a clean shrimp would eat the plug.

Yeah that looks alot like what they had, maybe 3-4 dots of it

I tried to find a picture but i didnt have one but i strongly belive that cleaner shrimp gives stress relief to the infected Fish well actually to all in general which helps the Fish build up resistance against it and other stuff but this as i Said is my own beleif and comes from having tanks without and with cleaner shrimp and i see a difference on the Fish when they have cleaner shrimp in the tank for the better.

Yes that could be true!

Well, that's not just your belief. There's a paper on that with actual evidence to support that claim. Cleaner shrimp do in fact help lower cortisol levels in client fish.

Yeah if you ask me, every ”common” tank needs a cleaner shrimp but i wouldnt put it in my seahorse tank, they will stress them out instead and steal their food 😂

I’m curious! Because on reef central the fish expert (snovich) stated that cleaner shrimp do not eat ich because they are below the skin and studying their stomach’s showed no ich consumed.

This article only states parasites, not ich specifically.
Maybe Jay can answer?

Maybe they cant get the ich but they should take care of flukes for example?
