So a piece of my torch I saw dangling has now fallen off. The torch itself looks fine but now I have this tissue tentacle blob and I was to know if A. Anyone has ever had this happen? B. Can I take the small piece out it in a cup or something with a piece of rock and have it grow into an actual torch? C. Should I just remove it?
Thanks!!

A. It is pretty common
B. It is possible
C. Try to see if it lives, but maybe too small a sample.

Any idea why it came off, was something like an Angel or Peppermint Shrimp nipping at it?

It honestly was just droopy for a few weeks like the base wasn’t big enough to support it.

I would watch it very closely (as you probably are). If it is being nipped at, this could be a precursor to more damage.

I have been especially since I added a peppermint shrimp about 2 weeks ago. I have watched it like a hawk and haven’t seen it get on that torch at all. But it was dropping heavily before I got it. Thinking about trying to putt the little piece in a cup and trying to see if it’ll grow!

Have any urchins? I found mine munched a chunk of skeleton off a torch while eating coraline and flesh was dangling
