Guys,
What typically causes torches to melt away? I’ve tried a few times to keep torches . 2 years back they slowly all died and melted away. I took a break for covid and recently started adding a few back. They seemed to be doing well , 2-3 weeks all open up, seeing flesh and tentacles looked nice. Then one polyp started bailing, melted away, now another today.

Here’s my parameters

Alk 11
Calcium 580
Mag 1260
Salinity 1.0245
Temp 79
PH 8.3
Nitrate 5
Phosphate .10

The above numbers are stable. I run a trident and monitor as well as use a calcium reactor.

Any pointers would be greatly appreciated…

Thanks
Steve

I’ve only dealt with this once but it was due to an Alk swing. Things were fine for like a week after but then lost heads on several different LPS. Your alk and Ca are both high, were they low and then got bumped up to this high of a number or have they been consistently high?

No they have been that high for some time . Not to many corals consuming it.
