I would jump on the chance those look great and I’d love to find a seller with straight up pictures however I am in the UK and guessing you are USA?
Ahh yea. Sorry, can’t ship there
Yeah I do agree with this and if it had started like the photos with a green mouth as described but morphed over time I would put it down to my parameters but figure one day isn’t going to shift it.

Torch really shouldn’t morph. It does happen but it’s not very common

This is the problem with corals in general. People mis-name them with out knowing for sure then sell them with the wrong name. I googled ny knicks torch yesterday and got pics of ones without green mouths/bases and ones with. Same for indo gold. besides the green most pics looked the same. This is why I buy corals based on looks and price if I like it for both reasons I buy it if not I move along. There is a skittles torch story I have that I ended up going a couple tables over at a coral show and getting a cotton candy for half the price that looked the same color to me and better health. I get that the skittles has or is supposed to have multi color tips that I could not see at the show. I would not have bought it at that price no matter what it was called anyway. $350 a polyp, naw thanks.

Yeah I totally agree with you. When I started I just looked at how the coral is looking and if I liked the looks and the price would go for it. However the names can sometimes be helpful when you are trying to add to your collection and don’t want duplicates. With the range of lighting and potentially edits some sellers do if your buying online it’s hard to tell from looks alone some times.

To be honest in my local LFS I can still struggle sometimes because their lights are so different to mine.

Can I please get some help with the id of this torch. I received the frag today and the seller is adamant that it’s a ny Knicks however it looks exactly the same as my indo gold (at the top) of the comparison photo. I appreciate it’s still settling in but doesn’t look like a ny kicks to me. He is arguing it’s just the lighting. Thanks
