Torch Id help please. Seller dispute.

Can I please get some help with the id of this torch. I received the frag today and the seller is adamant that it’s a ny Knicks however it looks exactly the same as my indo gold (at the top) of the comparison photo. I appreciate it’s still settling in but doesn’t look like a ny kicks to me. He is arguing it’s just the lighting. Thanks

I gave up diputing strains of corals with anyone. I have seen mislabled corals on website and LFS but then who is to say what I was told they are are actually what they are? I have seen this one called both and I don't know what the difference is but if it doesn't look like the picture you bought it from I would have a talk with the seller.

My New York Knicks is porphing to a solid gold torch. Its under 300 par. They can, and will morph with lighting, flow amd parameters.

It looks like a "FedX NexDay" torch to me. (just made that up, like any other name) lol

Sorry I was having some issues posting and for some reason it posted it three times!

I don’t actually care all that much about names really it’s just it can be helpful sometimes when trying to find a new variant I don’t have. Or at least thought I didn’t have .

The seller did say it has a green mouth but it’s white/grey in my tank.

It looks like my NY knicks. Front and center

Does yours have a green mouth? I was under the impression that was a defining feature and neither my original colony or the new frag have a green mouth. It’s more a white/grey mouth.

I don’t see any pics in the first post? Anywho a indo gold and Knicks are similar but the Knicks have a green mouth.. the 24k and a indo gold look similar but the 24k is super bright gold compared to the orangish gold

Yes that was my understanding too that the knicks should have a bright green mouth. I will take a closer look tomorrow when it’s settled in but it looked grey/white to me earlier.

Honestly I looked I can’t see the mouth but I don’t ever recall seeing green. The western Australian Rasta torch behind it on the left has a green mouth.

All my Knicks have a noticeable bright green on the mouths. Did you buy it as WYSIWG? Does it look like the picture that was advertised?

Yes it was WYSIWG I have attached the seller photos below. I did think it might look similar to my colony but I messaged him before hand and he confirmed it had a green mouth so I thought it would be a chance to get one a bit different.

I can make my dragon soul look very yellow if I shine a UV light on it and edit the settings so I’m always dubious about what I would actually receive as I’m sure some sellers are doing just that. I thought this one might be safe when the seller said it had the green mouth as all my actual gold ones have the white mouth.

I’ll say that everybody’s tanks are different and corals change color and act differently in other tanks. Your parameters are probably vastly different than the sellers tank and might not be as good which is why you could see changes.

Yeah I do agree with this and if it had started like the photos with a green mouth as described but morphed over time I would put it down to my parameters but figure one day isn’t going to shift it.
