Sorry this is happening.

If you do decide to frag it to save the rest, I'd do it sooner than later so the head doesn't start to brown jelly and go inside.

Killing me. I know you’re right, I probably should frag it. The circled section has me especially worried, it looks skeletal, not smooth in the circled area… not too far from the edge. That said this thing is the center piece of my tank. Look how darn healthy and good it looked today (this is why I’ve been so intent on figuring it out, that and I figure this thread may be useful for folks dealing with similar issues since I’ve been documenting it over time)

I really hate to cut it up, but sometimes you just can’t figure this stuff out…

Update.

I’m back to wondering if this is potentially just some really odd splitting behavior. It seems to be eroding to maybe 10mm of the polyp edges but then halting. At least for now. Idk, I’m stumped. Still opening great (again, for now at least!).
