I bought a torch from a LFS this week. $20/head I couldn't pass it up!
However, I noticed tonight that a few of the tentacles have branches. Does this mean it is actually a frogspawn?

The tentacles do get quite a bit longer than this. Shut flow off to snap pics.

Anyone have some input on this? It doesn't look anything like my frogspawn, but the forked tentacles have me confused.
Is it common for torches to have forked tentacles?

My torch has splitting tentacles all of the time. Think of it as cells splitting, in order to make more, they split. Frogspawn would have multiple tentacles coming out of the sides of one bigger tentacle.

I had something similar to this happen to me a while ago, except some of the tips of the tentacles would detach and float around in my tank. Recently, I started to find baby torch corals everywhere, even in my sump. I traded a bunch in to my LFS for store credit, but still have a dozen torches growing everywhere. I had to cull some of the more difficult to remove ones that were stinging other corals. I was told it was probably polyp bailout, but actual flesh of the mother colony stayed completely intact, so I'm not too sure.
