Torches dying?

Does anyone know what could cause this? This is my 4th torch that is doing perfectly fine today and tomorrow it will literally show off bone from one side and within days it is completely dead! I've been having these torches for almost a year now with no problems but growth.

I do have a midas blenny, could he be biting them? I haven't seen him personally go after them but when i feed reef roids he is all crazy and eats it too and goes into corals for it.

Are they getting enough flow? Also, take it out and smell it, if it smells bad/rotting then it probably is BJD, also look for any brown jelly like substance, could also be polyp bailout

Also, give it a 15 min iodine dip, that will help if it is an infection

Sorry no help. Every torch I put in my tanks will look good for a while then die overnight. Frogspawn and other corals do great but I can't keep as torch alive.

Because euphyllia like nutrients rich water. Your nitrates should be 10 to 15 and phosphate. 05 to .1. Low to moderate flow. 150 to 250 par. When numbers are off corals be stressed and immune system fails allowing infections in.

Flow is good, i had it off so i can take a picture. Its not BJD. I have a feeling is my midas blenny messing around. I saw him bite at my acro while casually swimming by. And also saw my banana grail torch had 2-3 tentacles bit off.... he is going back to the store today. We shall see. I also dipped them but with no luck

True but i just wake up with "bites" or something and then they immediately start retracting flesh and dies shortly after. Thats ehy i suspect my midas is to blame. He get very hungry i guess

Are your nutrients always that low?? I would bet they are starving.

Sometimes 5-10 on nitrates

Everywhere i read i see that it shouldn't exceed 10ppm. I dont know, i don't think that is the cause since i have one HG torch that is completely encrusting the plug and going down the rock now and about to split in 4 heads from one head when i got it a few months ago. Idk what to believe now.

You've been reading the wrong things... 10 would be the bare minimum I would recommend nitrates for softies and LPS.

That's the difficult part of keeping corals with such varied needs in one tank. You'll have to find the balance for your tank. Hopefully none of your coral actually needs ultra low nutrients (nitrate below 5 and phos below 0.05).

You can't assume or guess tomorrow, you need to go back to roots, honestly look into this care intensely as it's happening to much, if everything else is doing great then be thankful for that, it will buy you time to source out the problem.

What i am saying is the torches are doing great one day, full extension of the polyps and then the following day they are retracted and bone showing off on one side. Mind you all this while no signs of flesh receding.
My thing was my midas blenny might've got a little too hungry and developed a taste for them as it seemed to happen more often lately. I had to return to the store a few days ago. We shall see if anything changes. I dont want to take chances with my high end torches

Any time I've ever tried saving a torch with iodine is has died best thing I've ever did to get them to come back was dosing my tank with ciprofloxacin or even better do a KFC dip
