Great tank I enjoyed reading through this build. I am currently working on a 185 gallon starfire glass tank from planet aquarium. I am going to start a build thread soon, but wanted to wait until it was a little further along. I really like how you did the electronics enclosure.

I do have a question for you. I saw that had previously ran a vertex alpha and switched. I was planning on buying either the vertex alpha 200 or 250. What was the reason you switched?

Once again great build thread. It made me want to make my first post.

Congrats on your upcoming build. And welcome to R2R you love it here.

The quality of the vertex alpha is far greater than the ATi but don't know if that will change when they start making them in china.
Ever since they debut the 250is I was smitten with the features and the grind wheel vs a pin wheel.
So far I'm super please with the performance of the skimmer.
The foam in the body it produces kinda reminds me of a Beckett foam jet skimmer. It's really awesome.

Hey Toxic,
Just read thru your build great looking set-up.Have a question for you about the tabs you made for your screen top.How do they work I can't see the pics well enough.Looks like one in each corner does the screen sit down below the top edge?

It does. It keeps the rimless look.

On friday i finally got a propper frag light.
