Anybody have any experience consistently dosing the tropic Marin A and K trace elements. I’m leaning towards reducing my water change amount from every 2 weeks to when needed maybe once a month or 2 since I deplete a lot of my nutrients when I do them. I want to replenish my trace elements more without doing the more expensive moonshine method. I’m thinking about sending out an icp test in next week or so to see where my numbers are. Any thoughts on this process.? I would probably be dosing every day. I also run 2 part.
I heard you can overdose some elements is that possible with this method since it’s one solution? Thanks for the input!

Tropic Marin A and K are actually two separate solutions and they should not be mixed. If you dose the minimum stated dose you will not have accumulation, if you dose above the maximum recommended dose you should use ICP to ensure there is no accumulation.

If you are using TM Original Balling you can mix TM A into your Alk and TM K into your Calcium. Other 2/3 parts likely work as well.

I have used Tm A and K for number of years without issues, great product. Right now I am using TM All for reef and that contains TM A and K and works well.

Good luck,

Been using TM A and K for about a year at about recommending dose in 2 part. I also use ICP for fun and confirmation. Happy with the results, have also individually doses F, Ni and V because these elements got very low according to ICP. Still do 15% weekly WC, because imo it is a “win, win, win” (M. Scott quote) using WC. I thought some colors improved when I dosed F, but really hard to tell…

I was thinking about putting it in my 2 part as I just run brs 2 part. Do you have a lot of sps? I hear they can suck up specific elements. I’m not completely opposed to water changed just the salt I use gets expensive and my nutrients get depleted fast. I will definitely look into adding it to my 2 part

Sounds good. When you mean accumulation do you mean the elements in the water, as they’re being used. I’ll probably stick to a middle of the row dosage just to not over do it then check with an icp test

Yes to SPS and use BRS 2 part also. WC keeps everything balanced, imo, even if I make a mistake. My tank is only 40 gallons and use RC salt so not expensive. I run hobby tested undetectable nutrients so not a concern.

Sounds good I’ll probably start with that. Tank look great btw. I’ve been using tm salt just gets expensive. The main reason I wanted to not do wc as frequently is I drop my nitrates like almost to 0 then have to dose to try and get them back up. If I can just run icp and trace seems easier and then small water changes every month or so.

If you go over the maximum dose there is a chance that some of the elements in the water may rise / accumulate.
I find with trace elements less is more so I tend to be on the low side.
