Hi reefers,

Yesterdag i bought my first trachy .
But i think its a bit damaged by shipping on the side , looks less fluffy and little bit white . Could that restore itself ? Do i need to worry ?

Or is that already beqous of to much light ? Could that be only after few hours already ?

Thanks in advance .

Hi , looks healed ? check daily for progression ,iodine dip would be next step if not already healed.

Patience. Flesh will shrink and swell, totally normal. And make sure you don't have shrimp, they love to eat trachy flesh to the point of no return . . . :crying-face:

See tentacles at dusk/lights out yet?
I Did not look yesterday , i will chevk tonight . And i do have 2 cleaner shrimps ... wil that be a prob ? I dod not see them near yet tbh

Peppermint shrimp for sure will munch it, I don't know about other species. Definitely watch the tank at lights out, grab some tasty black licorice and wait and see.

I've never had cleaners eat flesh but they will brutally rip food out of the inside of the mouth. Not too bad if you broadcast feed but to target feed I had a 2 liter bottle with the bottom cut off that I would cover the coral while feeding to keep the shrimp out. I won't keep cleaners with fleshy lps any longer.

For sure its the aiptasia . I looked at night and i see 2 of them but more like under the coral . I thought i got them with the glue but that dind work .
I think i need to get my hand on some aiptasia product to get rid of them .
I have no idea how many days a trachy can handle those stings underneath his flesh ...

Boil RO/DI water, inject hot water into the aiptasia with a syringe if you have one (like the ones some test kits come with). You could mix up a kalk sludge and do the same but either way you have to be SOOOOOOO careful since it's close to the trachy flesh. Good luck.

update ,

i dosed eradicated the aiptaisa under his flesh dosing red sea product , they seem to be gone now .
as for the trachy itself its for surely damaged by the stinging of the aiptasia ?
collors looks good except for the part where its retracted .
i think it will heal up just fine ?
i did not yet see it feed or tentacles atm .

here some pictures .

thanks in advance .

today i fed the trachy , i used approx 3 pieces artemia soaked in spirulina .
it fed well i guess .
i did fight over 10 mins with the cleaner shrimp's about stealing food of the corals ....

ill find a solution for that xd

how many times do you guys feed trachy's and what ?

thanks in advance

@Goaway ? your experience ?

Damaged tissue was always quickly healed. Had 1 green trachy being nipped on non stop by regal angelfish. Was expected.

Basically offered food the size of mouth. Chopped shrimp, mysis, pe brine. Damage parts healed in a day or 2. For mine, it was a cube of mysis. chopped up shrimps tail.

If happy, healing will be quick and should puff right on up!
