Been wanting to get a trachy for a while because of its beautiful colors, however i do not know how well it would fit into my tank. I have two spots in mind it would also be nice to know large trachyphyllia get to have any idea of a good spot. The drawings are estimates that i gained by measuring one side of that area.

They don’t love:

Crazy High lighting
Strong flow
Too low of nutrient
Other corals near them that can irritate them.

They aren’t particularly super fast growing so you could place them wherever in your pics , but best to place them on the sandbed so they can expand when they are happy. Don’t underestimate how much they can expand.

Oddly mine have always been happy in a lower nutrient system (trace nitrate and .03-.06 po4)

Put them on the sandbed, they like low-moderate flow, I've kept mine in a colder system (73 Fahrenheit) and they expand many times more than their skeleton size, they love food too.

The spot has good flow, and par around 90, is that fine or is it a bit too high? I will probably feed it brine shrimp or krill.

90 is fine. Mine is in around 150 and all puffed up. They puff up BIG. They don't like anything stinging them, so keep them away from corals with long sweepers. I keep having to move mine over because the Octo keeps reaching for it:

Mine needs about a 6" x 6" space to be happy for now.
