Hi everyone,

After much thought and reflection, I’ve decided to shut down my 150-liter reef tank and transition to a nano setup. Maintaining the larger system has become increasingly difficult both financially and emotionally and despite my best efforts, I’ve experienced losses that have made it clear I need a more sustainable path forward.

The nano tank is already up and running, with a few of my remaining livestock safely acclimated. My goal is to preserve as much of the mature biofilter and equipment as possible to avoid triggering a new cycle. Once the tank is fully stabilized, I’ll begin introducing live rock, followed by my Bubble Tip Anemone, and eventually select corals that complement the new layout.

This move isn’t just about downsizing it’s about regaining control, protecting what’s left, and rediscovering the joy of reef keeping in a way that fits my current life. I’ll be sharing updates as the transition progresses, and I welcome any advice or insights from those who’ve walked this path before.

Thanks for being part of this journey.
