Today I calibrated my Trident put the calibration numbers in as required.
Alkalinity 8.25 ----- Calcium 405 -----Magnesium---1235 . I calibrated the unit. Number readout was perfect .
I then using the calibration liquid as sample ran a combined test . I was surprised to see the findings
Alkalinity 8.27----- Calcium 410 ---- Magnesium--- 1233 . I know that is good enough but what do you think?

Makes sense. Remember what units those are in - parts per million. The tiny bit of evaporation between when you opened the bottle and when calibration finished and you ran your test again is sufficient to explain the difference.

That and I'm sure there's a certain amount of uncertainty. Both between the solution settling slightly, and with the measurement itself.

I'm not sure on the tridents margin of error, but I would think thats well within it.

Your talking 0.02DKH ALK, 5ppm CAL, and 2ppm of MAG. Well within the margin of error for any test kit on the market.
