What else can be used instead of these - any ideas /or things you have used

The shipping is the same cost as the tubes - seems a bit much for 30 bucks shipped -

You’re pretty much limited to the OEM parts. While you could try measuring the tubes and fittings to find alternatives, that often turns into a time-consuming process of hunting and scouring the internet for the right items. If the measurements aren’t exact, the test results can end up being unreliable. On top of that, most suppliers require bulk purchases, which can significantly increase your costs. At some point, it really comes down to a cost-benefit analysis. I try to DIY whenever possible, and more often than not, it ends up costing me more than just buying the off-the-shelf solution. In this case, my recommendation is to stick with the OEM parts, so you know you have exactly what you need.
