This will be my build thread for my unplanned upgrade from a 60g cube to a 105g. The tank will be dominated by LPS, because acans are the true love of my life! I plan to take what I learned in the 60g build and improve on it with this tank.

Tank:
105g - 48" x 24" x 21"
Center overflow with 2 x 1" drains and 2 x 3/4" returns.

This is a picture from when the previous owner had the tank setup.

Custom stand:
This stand came with the tank and features a custom granite bar top for viewing enjoyment.

It feels like patience is a bit easier when you already have a tank running. As long as I have room for all of my impromptu coral purchases I can do everything the correct way. ;Shamefullyembarrased

This is a bittersweet build. It seems just as I get the chance to upgrade from the 60g, is right when the tank is starting to hit its stride and looks better every day.

I apologize for the potato quality photo. iPhone is useless without a good filter lens.

Planning to invest in a DSLR or simple camera setup for basic coral photography. If anyone has a suggestion I would love to hear them.

So made the order for my light today and will hopefully get the extra rock I need this week sometime and let it cure while I wait for everything else.

There are so many projects within this build it's hard to decide what to focus on. Trying to monitor sales and buy things accordingly while staying on task is testing my attention span. o_O

Here is a bit of an update on the current 60g cube. Made a trip to pick up some coral.

Finally got around to picking up a frag rack as well. Found that I need another one now.

Working on the planning and sump plans for the build. I decided to work in a small frag tank under the stand to limit the need for frag racks in the display. This will mean I’m going for a 26” long sump instead of a 34”, but I believe it will overall be worth it. Thinking a 24” x 16” x 12” frag tank would be a good fit.

Picked up an irresistible piece of rock today and threw it in some water to get it curing. This piece will probably make up the bulk of the rock that is need for this upgrade.

Roughly measured 16" in diameter and stood 6"-8" high.

A little update on what the 60 cube is looking like. The upgrade will be very much needed. Space is getting scarce for new additions. Cyano has been angry lately lol.
