Tristian's Reef: Hurricane Florence 350 Update #2
With Hurricane Florence raging outside I decided to do an update on the 350 should the worst happen.

Awesome progress on the tank Tristian! Glad I saw your build thread. After seeing your stand I ordered mine (60X36X40) from framing tech and the thing is a beast. Anthony was fantastic to work with and very patient with my stupid questions (he even emailed me back on a Saturday).
I have a question for you, did you use a 3/4 inch plywood and painted it white? also did you use a water proof paint? I went to home depot and there were several options for 3/4 plywood sheet as well as this one (https://www.homedepot.com/p/Prefini...-0-688-in-x-48-in-x-96-in-BPI6WUV2I/302874373) Which already has a white coating on it seems like. I was not sure which type of plywood you used. Please let me know thanks!

Hey lazy I’m happy that your happy with your Framing Tech Stand!!!
I used regular sanded 3/4” plywood because I was not sure how any “pre painted” wood would deal with humidity, water drips, or condensation that might build up under the sump area and drip back into to sump. I kilzed
The wood after applying a few coats. This is because I wanted a surface that i could wipe if something like humidity caused mold. I had them rip the wood there for me with about a 1” extra on the width. On top of the wood I used 1/2” foam also from Lowe’s.

Tristian' Reef: Refugium Light Update Kessil Like Performance for 30 Bucks!
In this episode I update my Refugium light with amazing results. The best part is that it only cost me 30 Bucks! Using this light I have been able to grow vast amounts of Chaeto even in the absence of detectable phosphates and nitrates.

In this episode I take a look at one of the pillars of Reef Keeping. I believe that my success with difficult fish and corals is due in part to the foods that I feed them. Faced with the prospect of spending hundreds of dollars a year in commercial fish foods I decided to make my own using the same stuff that commercial breeders use to keep their fish healthy, and in breeding form.

Hey everyone I was overdue a reef update. Originally I was going to do one before New Years but life got in the way.
This year I will be trying to get 1 new video out a week and I will also be doing more ReefTech videos since those were really popular last year.
Thank You EVERYONE for all the support this past year. Its been an amazing Journey as a youtube creator and fellow reefer. I look forward to creating new original content this year.
