Hi there,
I've got a trochus who's just never really taken off, he's been in the tank for 1 month 12 days -given to me for free by a fellow reefer I got some frags from. My other is very active and always doing laps around the tank, but the one in question is larger, rarely moves, and I don't think he ever really explored in the month he's been in the tank, just slowly moved around 1-2 rocks.
This morning he was upside down and upon righting him he's not latching on to anything. He's still alive, has no visible pyramid snails, and doesn't smell foul.
I'm just a little stumped - though not entirely surprised as he's always been, well, inactive. He's also very large, so I assume old age is a possibility.
After inspecting him this morning I've placed him back in the tank with an algae pellet under him. He's positioned himself a bit since then, but still mostly contracted.
My other snails, conches, and inverts are out and about.
Any reccommendations?
