The issue is that it seems like aminos do a great job at feeding stuff like vermitids instead of making our acros go nuts

The issue, IMO, is that there is no way, without extensive experimentation, to prove cause and effect in our systems. We don't even know what is in many of the additives available to us let alone whether or not they are a net benefit to our systems.
 
You guys should relax. It’s a scientific fact that corals can uptake amino acids from the water column, wether it’s for building proteins or as a nitrogen source.
 
I think many hobbyists are finding that aminos are borderline snake oil

I can’t say, but I know the smaller scale vendors that I’ve talked to at shows don’t use aminos didn't find that they did anything meaningful

I don't take such a cynical view, but I understand why others do.

Most of these companies are trying to find ways to provide value, and make enough profit to survive and keep growing while they're at it.

I haven't found a manufacturer yet that misses all their shots, nor one that hits all their shots.

We just have to cherry pick the best stuff.
