thanks for the info. how thick should a 14x8x7 tank be to be rimless(thinking about making a desk top frag tank or micro reef) , also whats the rule of thumb on deciding how thick the acrylic should be?
1/4" cast acrylic will suffice.... as for a rule of thumb it's pretty much just exp. that tells you..... it's not about heigth but more of length x heigth...

gonna start stocking this bad boy in the next couple days so i can re-scape the display!!!!!!:)
lot's of pics to come....

Thanks frank.....
I ordered all my bulbs yesterday so they will all be new...
I have new radiums on the display so I don't want my corals losing there color under the t5s I currently have there old.... I had 3 new bulbs which are 2 uvl actinics and a marine glo actinic... I ordered a Fiji pink or purple what ever they call it a aquablue and 3 blueplus.....
So my combo will be....
Uvl actinic
Uvl actinic
Marine glo
Aquablue
Fiji pink
Blue+
blue+
blue+

Any recommendations where to place each bulb?????? Front to back wise???

Thanks for the reply....
Has anyone used the marine glo bulbs??? I'm guessing it's pretty much the same as a blue+ but not sure.... It def has some pop!!!!!

So I got some frags moved over...;)
Sorry for the iPhone pics...:(
I'm gonna try to get some nice ones with a top down box I made but I left it at work...

So I started neo-zeo today on the prop tank and gonna see what happens... I have always ran a low nutrient system with mb7 and vodka but decided to give the stones a shot in a reactor and see what happens..if all goes well I will invest in a big package for the display...;)

just a update on the neo zeo stones from brightwells.... they have done a excellent job at bringing the nutient's to 0.... i lost alot of color on my sticks...:( so i kicked in the amino's the other day and see what happens.....
also picked me up a colony that i special ordered...1smile1
can you guess what it is by my crappy pics?????

hmmmmmmm. i guess my pics are really horrible!!!!! lol....;)
let's just say it's one of the most chopped up acro's on the scene and there is prolly only a handfull of people who own a colony of it, if that...... since it get's chopped up quickly...... better pics later i guess... maybe then someone will know what it is...1smile1

Ding ding ding!!!! lol...
That is the infamous strawberry shortcake...;)
I had to have a colony man my all time favorite acro!!!!
It's actually a mariculterd piece... My lfs found a farmer...;)
I paid out the yin yang for it but I had to have it...;)

I was actually thinking that myself lol.... I gotta learn how to ship corals first.. I have never shipped a coral yet...
I kept all my boxes from ordering stuff just haven't went for it!!!! Hmmmmm maybe I can do something..1smile1 I don't want to chop it up but a single frag won't hurt since the colony is the size of a volley ball lol....

Looking good! :D I wish I was that handy. I can do everything inside the tank, but the structure on the outside is a different story.

Thanks for the kind words...;)
It's not all that hard just takes time and the right tools...

Awesome build Troylee!! Have you thought about having the egge crate stepped in three levels so you can play with light intensity color. I know some chalices love low light and some high light, with 3-4 levels you can get it just right..
