I did TTM with mine. I used a 5 gal tank and added pods and BBS(both that I culture myself) every day. This worked great for me.

I’ve noticed faster breathing in the mandarin today I’m guessing it’s either water quality or lack of gas exchange it’s just weird because I’ve had the the airstone going now for 24 hours so if it’s water quality I’m guessing it’s because I prepared this tank and water a few weeks back. Also, I haven’t ran any carbon since i ghost fed.

Why did you ghost feed the tank if you are doing TTM? This would only add ammonia to tank. You don't need a cycled tank if doing TTM. Just have fresh saltwater made up and every 72 hours transfer fish to a second clean sterile tank. If you are transferring every 72 hours you should not have ammonia build up unless you are dumping too much food in the tank. Do you have another sterile tank to transfer into? If so I would go ahead and transfer to clean tank.

I know. this tank was cycled in preventive measure for for my other QT tank which has a lot more fish in it. I have now decided that the other QT and fish will be fine while I perform this ttm

I would test for ammonia if you have a test kit. I always put an ammonia badge on my qt tanks. If you don't then I would do a transfer to be safe. What are you feeding and how much?

Im going to monitor the breathing closely around the hour and if I noticed any increase or labored breathing I will definitely transfer to a sterile tank. Ammonia is zero

I’m feeding pretty heavy I have been since I got em. I feed cyclops and I recently just started trying oyster feast yesterday so that’s a weird coincidence. I added a small amount of prime just in case but the more I talk about it the more I think it could be lack of gas exchange or something that carbon would clear up

I would add a small power head and make sure it is pointed to the top to make the water ripple. That will help with gas exchange.

Just added prazipro after oxygenating tank with a spare needle wheel pump
24hours prior to next TTM
Officially nervous now. I don’t like the negative effects brought by prazi but the mandarin shows great appetite.
