Tunze 3155 level light blinking

I just installed a new 3155 on my quarantine tank and it has been working pretty well, however I have noticed something concerning.

Twice now I have gone downstairs to find it sort of blinking erratically. It appears to be only the "level" light. It has only happened after I have had it plugged in for a few consecutive days. Both times now I have been able to fix it by unplugging the unit and plugging it back in. Both times I have found it in this state, the water has been a little lower than it should be. When I power cycle it, it will usually immediately turn the pump on and fill top off water so that the water line is back where it should be.

Is this a known issue? What can I do to troubleshoot this?

On mine the level light blinks like that when it is just about to add water. I'm guessing because of the ripples in most sumps they designed it so that it doesn't kick on immediately when it senses low water, but lets it get to a preset low level then engages the pump. Whenever I turn mine off, for water changes etc., then back on it always adds a small amount of water. So that part may just be part of its programming as well.

If your water level is going down a significant amount (1/2"-1") and not triggering the motor then you may have an issue different than mine.

Ah ok that would make sense. Next time I find it like this I will keep an eye on it and let it play out to see what happens.

I'd like to know what the level limit is. I would assume it is 1/4" or whatever that is in millimeters. Hopefully Tunze will let us know ;)

Yes, the green level light blinks when it is in a 5 second delay waiting for a top off, it waits 5 seconds to account for a wave or surface movement. If water is splashing on the sensor or clinging to the sensor this can also be a cause.
