Already have the mp10. Just not sure about the glass thickness posing a problem.

I saw that wasn't sure if you were leaning towards the max spect gyro just because of the glass thickness and if that was the case and you like echotech mps better the mp40 is on sale for right around the same price just throwing that out there lol a lot of people don't see the sales on good equipment that normally wouldn't spend the extra money otherwise

Gotcha. I haven't even hooked it up yet. The mp10 is still in the box awaiting for the tank to be setup. So, I'm not really sure how much I'll like it. The only reason I was thinking about the gyre is because of the glass thickness. I'm going to try it out and see how it does once the tank is up and running.

Yeah of course a sale always means you can put the saved money into other things for the tank lol

How is your tank coming along? I'm thinking of purchasing this same model with the white stand. What equipment did you end up using? pros and cons on the tank?

Very sorry I'm just getting back to you. I'e been extremely busy at work. The stand is being built th is week will be ready for paint on Sunday. All equipment is listed in my first post. Don' have any pros or cons yet. I plan on upgrading my pumps after its running and I can see how the stock ones are.

Tomorrow ill be posting photos of the stand as it is now.

This is how she sits as of now. Should be done and ready for paint on Friday. My better half will be doing the painting in the next week or so. So roughly 2 -2.5 weeks and she'l be getting wet.

Small update...

Got the transfer tank up tonight. Going to add water the end of next week and start cutting all my corals to get them ready for the new tank. I went with the Kessil A80 and the controller. Probably a bit of over kill but I might do something in the future with it since I'll have the good light. It was between the kessil and the hydra prime HD. So I hope I made the right decision.

Here are my final gear decisions for the main tank.

Gear:
Tank- JBJ RL-65 FLAT panel
Stand- custom built
Light- JBJ Orion SL-140
Controller- Apex Classic
Auto feeder- Ehiem
Power head- Vortech MP10* / jaebo* / gyre*
ATO- Tunze ATO
Rock- Caribsea Life Rock
Sand- Tropic Edin Reef Flakes

(* have but unsure if I'm going to use. im going to start with the jaebo and try the others)

Progress being made. Molding is on, drawer is almost finished. The drawer I'll have a sort of top which when opened it will act as a work surface. It'll be used to store all my fragging equipment. The right side will have 2 shelves installed the left will have a 10 gallon aquarium as my ato reservoir. Going to do another coat of white on the inside then I'm going to put a clear sealer. Then my better half is going too have her way with it and paint the exterior. I also have leds ordered with will be on the inside that will be controlled with my apex to come on when the doors open.

We have paint on the outside and lights installed. Lights will be controlled by the apex.

Got my fuge light coming in, along with the leak detector kit for the apex 20180327_114404.png

Following along.

Great choice on JBJ 65. I have a 45 JBJ and previously owned 30 JBJ. The build quality issue was with 45's for glass thickness. Since them they upgraded the glass thickness and to differentiate the models, they used black silicone.

Btw that stand is beautiful, excellent work. Also Chaetomax is what I got and its small but packs a punch. I stuck it to the back wall with an inTank refugium basket. I know most ppl dont do this, but I removed the entire black cover so i can see detritus build up, cleaning the sump is easier and I found a jumper (goby). Left 1 inch on each side and ripped everything else. Just a thought.

Good luck with the build.

A couple of projects down. Little bit of paint left to complete the stand.

Really nice build I love the stand. I think having a ledge is great, my nano is tht way and I find it really useful while working on the tank. The only recommendation I have is tht you may want to see if you can create you rockscape without it leaning on the back wall. You will have much better flow if the water can flow behind the rockwork as well as in front of it. May not be a big issue depending on what you want to keep in the tank but you always end up with dead spots when the rock is up against a wall
