It's completely common for certain species of wrasse to do this behavior. My yellow coris is like clock work but the mucus cocoon that the 6 line makes to sleep in is a little on the gross side.

I see your 6-line mucous cocoon and raise you my parrotfish mucous cocoon (it sometimes looks like someone blew their nose in the tank!)

Very common for sand sleepers.

I'm guessing, hard to tell from the video, but it looks like you have a melanarus wrasse(Halichoeres melanurus). Great first wrasse.

I have plenty of sand sleepers. Melagris leopard, yellow corris, moyers leopard, and a yellow tail tamarin. You can set your watch to their sleeping habits. I have never seen mine hit the sand at night as they sleep behind my rockwork.
