B-ionic is a fine choice, but so are less expensive options.

What size tank are we talking about and what alk do you maintain?

Make sure the sand isn’t hardening.
How would you go about switching from 80ml a day two part to all for reef? I contacted tropic marine they told me it is stronger then ESV ionic. I tried reaching your previous posts on information in the forum to learn.
 
Are you dosing diluted ESV? Your pH is low considering how much ESV you are dosing.

I use all for reef and on the bottle it says not to use more than 25ml per 25 us gallons. Something to consider
 
Something seems wrong, imo. The kalk alone should provide enough at 2100 ml per day. My tank twice that size doesn’t allow 2100ml of evaporation. I only switched to 2 part at around 900 ml per day because kalk could not maintain but at twice the evaporation I would have been able to. 3 medium clams and 1 small and a full tank of stone corals.

ESV B-ionic (the normal version not the bicarbonate version) is similar to AFR (actually a bit stronger I think). I’d start with a matching dose and then raise (or lower) the AFR to meet alk demand as needed. The pH may drop and that will lower the demand.

Have you ever seen a tank consume 11.5 dKH daily? That's about how much this tank is consuming per the dosing amounts.

No. It is very high, and there may be some issue or misunderstanding or something else going on.

But the lower the total water volume, the higher the demand for similar organisms since volume rises (and falls) as the cube of the dimensions, while the floor surface area (where corals mostly are) rises (or falls) only as the square of the dimension.

I was recently asked about a large tank with very low demand. It has a lot of open water and a big water volume relative to the corals and rocks (which could have been packed into a much smaller tank), and so the alk demand per volume is not always the best way to assess. I did not consider its very low demand an inherent problem.

When I drop dosing like how you posted in previous forums. It just ticked off everything. I dropped it down to 50ml when I did that. Then went to raising it back up and everything was testing right. I bought all new test kits too. I have multiple salifert calcium and Hannah test kits. My trident matches my Red Sea alkalinity test kit. Magnesium is stable. I do not have a ton of coralline. What should I do?

You know when you calibrate the dosing pumps, you are putting any decimal point in the rights place, I suppose? ie, those little calibration measuring cylinders you get are maybe 10mls, not 100mls.

If you do not have issues with apparent precipitation (hardened sand, seizing pump impellers, etc.), then I'd suggest you need do nothing except convince yourself you are really dosing this much so that at no time in the future, something gets changed (say, a different dosing pump), you do not dose way more than in the past.

My pumps seize after 3 months like usual. I do get precipitation on back wall and on the rim of the tank. The algae grows over it usually.
 
You know when you calibrate the dosing pumps, you are putting any decimal point in the rights place, I suppose? ie, those little calibration measuring cylinders you get are maybe 10mls, not 100mls.
With the Dose pump you have to use 40ml cylinder to calibrate them.
 
I retested calcium and lowering my dose of that.
Magnesium is 1440 on salifert and 1770 on trident. I got 8.4 for alkalinity on salifert which is current on trident. I think I will drop my alkalinity a tad for calcium. Should be in line in a couple days.

You have precipitating calcium carbonate on the back wall? Not coralline, but a chemical precipitate? That's highly unusual unless it's right next to where you dose.
 
Yea it looked like this when it forms. Happens once in a while.
