Tyree Toadstool releasing polyps, Polyp bailout or something else.

Hello everyone, I am curious to know if toadstools will release polyps in stress response in order to save itself, or as a form of repopulation. I have a tyree toadstool that hasn't opened up in a week, and just now, noticed a polyp being released. Here is a picture, it's not super clear, so I drew the outline and circles the polyps for you guys. Lemme get something out of the way first because it is always asked, I checked my params and everything seems to be in check. Any feedback would be helpful, thanks!

Hey so I never owned one of these before but I heard they shed their polyps sometimes so it might be what it is but I really don't have the expertise to answer that question

No this isn't normal from what I've seen so I'm confused. what you are thinking about is that toadstools shed a wax layer every so often.

I can do that. Today though, I saw tons of its polyps starting to come back out which is a good sign. So, I'm gonna hold off on giving it more stress until I know for certain that something is wrong.

I would let it ride. My brother has had this happen many times with that same variety of coral. Other types drop buds but he has had many tiny clones sprout up in his 10 gallon nano. Unless, you don’t want an invasion..

The picture is very hard to make out. Are you 100% sure it's polyp bail out? I have dozens of these guys and I've never seen any do this. This is not to say they don't do weird things. Occasionally some close for days, weeks even and look terrible. They always bounce back.

Mine spawned like crazy last night and that was the first time I've ever seen that.

They wouldn’t bail out unless something had ripped them off. Polyp retraction is very common as something isn’t to their liking. Can lead to shedding of some skin. Normal.
