Love this!I grew up on the north Norfolk coast & loved paddling around as a kid finding the weird native critters(both sea & land dwelling types-it was Norfolk in the early1990s!)
It's been on my list to do a native cold water marine tank for a few years.
Looks great!
Yep there’s something coming up shortly and all people interested in cold water tanks all over the world will be able to share ideas and experiences so keep following along we have so much to offer at our coast line. Pros no need to buy salt just go and get natural sea water/ Every thing you put in the tank is free / shops open 24/7 never closed . It’s a great way of keeping saltwater tanks

How are the waters around the UK from a environmental standpoint? I’ve heard/read somewhere about salmon in the Thames, et, but no clue if thats hype or if the UK has actually gone that “green”…

Yes things are changing in the uk go greener but power and gas also food prices through the roof. Everything getting protected wanting to stop all types of hunting . Try to get us all to own a electric cars by 2030 but a cheap one is £30.000 but the government promises everything but give nothing. Shops closing every day people loosing there jobs but the government say everything is good

Hi everyone
I have set a native cold water nano tank from the uk coast line I just thought the fish shop is right at my door why not use it . I have been jumping rock pools and finding grate creatures all over the place when moving stones in theses pool . The tank I’ve used is a 34L fluval flex all in one so a small amount of water. Everything seems to be running good at the moment I could do with a small chiller to keep the temperature down and stable but I had my hands in some rock pools today and they were quite warm surprisingly. Cold water marine is all new to me at the moment to the basic method of keeping marine tank going are the same .
So tank content
Snails x 9
Hermit crabs x2
Anemone x1
Shrimps tiny x4
Blenny x 1
Sea lettuce x1
Kelp X1
And more but look nice but don’t know the names yet lol
So here is a look so far still got a long way to go . The only thing really good is everything inside the tank has cost me nothing. So more jobs to do tidying it up a bit and learning All comments welcome we can learn from each other . This thread will be updated as things hopefully progress

Yes, that does happen, especially with Sea Gulls. :anguished-face:
I live at the sea side and there are more gulls than anything else . Thinking of going out with a fisherman’s boat that’s if I don’t get sea sick . I will get some water when out with him . Going too start storing it for water changes

Not a saltwater tank but this is my son’s tank with all but a mollie ( was a feeder fish but alluded the predators) and a pleco. Most of the animals came from or near Lake Erie. It started with 5 newly hatched turtles. Inhabitants: 5 painted turtles, a baby snapping turtle, crayfish, many different snails and many different fish.
