What's your thoughts on the Ultra Reef Protein Skimmer brand?

Here they are a "step above" other, more popular skimmers. No experience from me but genuinely wondering what everyone else thinks.

How many of you are using one?

I have an Ultra Reef UKS 200 on a 240 gal system. It’s a great skimmer. I was previously running a Bubble Magus Elite which was also good just a little undersized for my needs.

I would recommend Ultra Reef, it’s in the “pricey” range but, considering the size I needed it was comparable to other options. It’s quite nice.

I have an Akula UKS 160; it ran on a 90-gallon tank and performed flawlessly—it is very easy to maintain. However, I now have a 230-gallon tank, and it is a bit too small. I’ll be upgrading to a SeaTorch.

Thanks for the feedback! Looking seriously at putting one on the office 180!

I have a UKS180 on my 130g spa reef and it’s been great. I have the DC pump which is silent albeit less reliable. I had 1 fail and Ultra Reef is a bit of a pain to deal with through Aquarium Specialty which can be FLAKY unless you pester him.

I have a UKS180 on my 100ext did have pump issue but Sicce took care of that no issue with Aquarium Specialty on the Ultra Reef but have something on order with them since October that they will not respond to about. Can also get from Premium Aquatics. I would purchase another ultra reef if I was starting a new tank
