Unhappy Torch - Help

Got a torch a few weeks ago and I'm struggling finding the right place for him... all tank parameters are looking a good and all corals seem to be happy, but this torch. I'm thinking it either has to do with the placement (yes, it's in a awkward place) OR maybe there's something no right with him. Here's some pics. If you have any feedback or any suggestions on anything else found in the pictures, please don't hesitate to let me know! Thanks!

Yes it looks kind of unhappy but with everything else even corals can have bad days.

a good looking torch sending it good vibes, hopefully it pulls through.

From my experience Euphyllia are just like that. Very temperamental, I would not worry until it fully retracts like, omg its dead retracts.
I have found that if I take a turkey baster and lightly baste it? Every couple days they come back, might have swallowed something it did not like.

I can`t quite see where your power head is, but I have found with my torches that they seem to like very little flow. Enough to have their tentacles move slowly in the flow, but not a blast of flow at or around them. I have one hidden behind a rock, and the other underneath the Gyre so that the flow has to go through the entire tank before it gets to it and they both seem to be doing well. I used to put them in high flow areas as I liked seeing the tentacles move about, but they would retract rather quickly and just barely be out and about in the flow anymore. Just my 2 cents, and maybe it only works in my tank, but that`s what I have found to be the best for my torches. Hopefully this guy starts waving around at you soon!

I have mine in an area where they receive a bunch of flow, but not directly toward them.
They're right next to my mp10 and it's more of a pulling action and they love it.
Perhaps this sort of placement could help you

I'm going to try moving him again tonight, I'll see if he gets more flow. I have a mj900 and a koralia nano 240.

My torches like flow. I'd move it to the sand away from all but a drift of flow for a day. If it's bummed, move it to moderate flow for a day. You can tell within 24 hours if it's happier or getting worse off. If I take flow away form my torches, they jelly out. If they're flowing pretty well, they seem to live well.

What do you recommend doing with the baster?

Marinating your turkey?

You can use a baster to blow off rocks and such prior to tank cleaning they work good for this.

Another use is to gently blow off corals, frees them of sand, junk, whatever. I had a torch that was not doing well, I gently blew it and the next day it started to extend again.

+1 for folks suggesting indirect flow.

I've had good luck introducing rockwork around Euphyllia to provide direct shelter from flow, but some eddies/indirect flow to produce a gentle swaying motion.

What do you mean by jelly out? I got my first torch a couple days ago.
